Backyard Art Camp

August 8 - August 11, 2020
Berkshires of Western Massachusetts

With the support of Suzi and her assistants, you will be guided to sew your journal in the Coptic Stitch style, an ancient practice that lets your book open flat.

Come make slow art outside under my oak tree.

If the weather turns wet, we’ll scoot under a canopy. Live, real time, hard copy event in the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts in my backyard.

This workshop of open-air art making in a circle of community will inspire you in ways you may have forgotten. Working intuitively in paste paper for a whole day, you will make papers to serve as covers for Davey book board.

Paste paper also makes one-of-a-kind note cards and envelopes.

With the support of Suzi and her assistants, you will be guided to sew your journal in the Coptic Stitch style, an ancient practice that lets your book open flat.

Every day in Backyard Art Camp we will write.

Every day we will add to a group created mandala.

Every day we will sing, eat outside, and share in circle.

Every day we will take a step to slow the mayhem in our lives by sinking in to the colorful, textural, and sensual delight of summertime art making.

On Sunday night, we make S’mores around the fire bowl.

Berkshires BYAC is August 8-11, 2020
Enrollment TBA

“Suzi does a fabulous job of creating a circle of creativity that nourishes and inspires my soul to express its joy through making paste paper and then stitching the pages into books. She also inspires me to continue living into my journal daily.”
-Sarah Nicholson
